Kings to Anaheim? Not if the Lakers and Clippers Have Their Way

The Sacramento Kings proposed move to Anaheim is still very much on the table.  The NBA gave the Kings an extension last week to apply for a change of scenery, and the Maloof's seem ready to do anything to move the team.  This would be a huge blow for the city of Sacramento, and especially the die-hard fans that have been with the team through the good times and bad times.  Ironically though, the Kings biggest rivals, may be the team that help keep the Kings in Sacramento, or at least out of LA.  According to Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News, the Lakers and Clippers oppose the move:

"The move to Anaheim will be opposed by the Lakers and Clippers, who see it as an encroachment on their territory. But sources close to the Maloofs say they're willing to pay the two L.A. teams whatever it takes to relocate. That would be in addition to the league's relocation fee of $30 million."

Neither team has given any indication as to what it would take for them to approve of the King's move.  It's a shame though that the Maloof's are willing to do this to a fan base that has given the team so much support....
